Sandbox accounts

A sandbox account is a fully functional Stok.ly account, subject to a set of restrictions, intended for developing and testing apps before they go live on a production account.

Use a sandbox account to build and test your integration end-to-end — creating and managing items, processing orders, and handling webhooks — without any risk to real customer data or live operations.

Restrictions

Sandbox accounts behave the same as production accounts in every respect except for the limits below.

Rate limits

Requests to a sandbox account are limited to 120 requests per minute. Requests beyond this limit will receive a 429 Too Many Requests response.

Entity limits

To keep sandbox accounts lightweight, hard limits apply to the number of certain entities:

EntityLimit
Items100
Sales channels1
Sales orders80 per calendar month

Once a limit is reached, further creation requests for that entity will be rejected until the limit resets (for sales orders) or existing entities are removed (for items and channels).

Outbound emails

Sandbox accounts do not send emails to real customers. Any transactional or notification emails that would normally be sent to a customer are instead redirected to the verified email address of the sandbox account's owner.
